About Me
I'm Mark Karman, a software engineer who discovered my calling through an unconventional path. My journey began in biotech as a process engineer, where I spent my days optimizing workflows in highly regulated environments. What started as troubleshooting inefficient processes evolved into a fascination with how technology could solve problems at scale.
That curiosity led me to software engineering, where I now design and build tools that streamline operations across industries. There's something deeply satisfying about writing code that eliminates hours of manual work or untangles a complex workflow that's been frustrating teams for months.
Currently, I'm expanding my toolkit through a Master's in Computer Science at Georgia Tech, with a focus on Machine Learning. The program is pushing me to think about problems from entirely new angles—how data patterns can reveal insights that traditional approaches miss.
Outside of work, I'm constantly tinkering with new frameworks and technologies, often late into the night when a particularly interesting problem has grabbed my attention. I thrive in collaborative environments where ideas can collide and evolve into something better than any of us could have built alone.
What drives me is the intersection of thoughtful engineering and real-world impact—building solutions that don't just work, but actually make people's lives easier.
